Virtual Weight Management is a comprehensive online weight loss program that is administered under the direct supervision of Samer Kafelghazal, MD. Dr. Sam, as his patients like to call him, is a board-certified internist who specializes in weight management and bariatric medicine. With over 24 years of experience in the field, Dr. Sam applies the latest treatment methods to help his patients achieve their weight loss goals. He is licensed and accepting patients from Michigan, Ohio, Florida, and Texas.
Dr. Sam has been featured as an expert in weight loss and weight management in various publications including Crain’s Detroit Business, WXYZ-TV, Dbusiness, and The Oakland Press.
During the initial consultation, each new patient will receive a free and private phone consultation with Dr. Sam. Following the consultation, Dr. Sam will design a weight loss program customized to the patient’s medical history and lifestyle. Whether a patient needs to lose 10 pounds or more than 100 pounds, they will receive one-on-one support from Dr. Sam until they reach their goal.
At Virtual Weight Management, obesity is considered as a disease that requires a comprehensive approach and medical management. Patients are never blamed for their barriers to weight loss. Instead, the team partners with and supports them to achieve their goals. Although the program is online-based, it has the same effectiveness, safety, quality, and privacy as seeing Dr. Sam in person. To ensure that the program is effective, patients’ progress is monitored biweekly.
Virtual communication with the patients is conducted through a HIPAA-compliant online portal, video conferencing, and a mobile app designed to protect patients’ health information and privacy.
