Character for music schools

The Musikschulmanagement Niederösterreich is an organisation that connects music schools in lower austria. In that position they are creating an extensive collection of teaching material for all musical instruments. To make it more approachable for kids they asked me to create a character, which should lead through the different exercises, like for example listening, riddles or crafting.

We created „Nömu“ the little alien that comes to earth, enticed by the wonderful music in the schools. Nömu is a very good listener, loves to dance and listen to kids playing their instruments.

The character should also have significant ears, simple but recognisable, so they can be crafted and put on by the teachers in school to embody the role of „Nömu“.

Layout
In additon to the character they also asked me to do a layout template for the whole teaching material. The challenge here was that it is not published and printed as one piece, but teachers can get whichever part they need as a download and print it themselves. So every page has to work also on it’s own and the layout needs to look neat, even when printed on a regular school printer.
