When I was young, I started writing, but it wasn’t what I loved the most at that time. Writing was something I did for fun, not something I thought deeply about. Surprisingly, my mom saw that I could be a good writer even before I realized it. I grew up in a family of musicians, so I focused a lot on music. During that time, I used the name Lainy. But later, to show that my books were different from my music, I chose the name Nana Kemuri as an author. Nana was a nickname my brother gave me when we were kids, and I added Kemuri, which I think means smoke in Japanese, to make it special. My first book is called “The Creatures of American Science,” and it’s an exciting science fiction story. It’s about three young friends who face new challenges and discover how strong they are when they work together.
