Devagiri, also known as Daulatabad, is a historical fort city located in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It was founded in the 12th century CE by the Yadava dynasty and served as their capital for over two centuries.
Devagiri is known for its strategic location atop a conical hill, which provided a natural defense against enemy attacks. The city was also known for its complex water management system, which consisted of several reservoirs and canals that supplied water to the city’s inhabitants.
