We Who Bleed Asher Zuechner
A collection of 10 digitally illustrated short-stories centered around the themes of wartime strife and its consequences on the human psyche, published in a web format. The stories as well as illustrations all depict different characters within the same world, named Fahlwyrd, and are posed in story pairs of 2.
These pairs are conceptual mirrors of each others narrative, showcasing their familiarity (i.e. the characters are collogues, siblings, lovers, etc.), as well as the respective foils, dependencies or similarities found within their overarching themes.(i.e. story 5 & 8: Humanity and Eternity, or story 9 & 10: Loss and Liberty)
The aim of this was messaging, for one, and to create depth within the world, its mythos, concepts and each individuals philosophy and strife.
This work was created over the span of 4 months as part of my finals project graduating as a Illustrationdesigner.
