The new Porsche 911 Carrera S has more torque than its predecessor, which was lacking at low and mid-range revs. However, this new torque comes at a cost. The engine no longer provides the high-rev tingle and engagement that the Carrera GTS did. The long intermediate gears remain a hallmark of the car.
